Provides nursingcare to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperativeperiod. Receives report fromanesthesiologist, surgeon and/or circulating RN regarding surgical interventionand incorporates this into nursing plan of care. Assures control of pain, bleeding and nausea,proper positioning, management of airway, and stabilization of vital signs. Responds immediately to emergency situations.
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: One year previous PACU or critical care experience. High School Diplomaor equivalent. Associate Degree or equivalent. CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS.
Requires theability to work with minimal sleep and be productive. Must be able to follow instructions, workquickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammaticalskills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills areessential. Must be fluent in spoken andwritten English. Must be able to fulfillthe essential functions of the position.
