RN Intensive Care Unit

Fairview Health Services is looking for a RN for our Intensive Care Unit at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is anight position, 12 hour shifts with every third weekend. Benefit eligible.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) in this 23 bed ICU. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

This multi-diagnosis Intensive Care Unit cares for critically ill patients 18 years and older. Average daily census of 17-18. Currently have 77.5 FTEs / 120 employees in the department. We see approx. 5-8 open heart surgical patients per week as well as other major surgical patients, acute respiratory failure, OD / withdrawal, medical and surgical neuro and minimal trauma. We provide Telemedicine ICU services for the system and take care of patients with IABP, Impella, hypothermia therapy, CRRT however we transfer patients requiring LVAD or ECMO to UMMC.

• Approximately half of our RN staff has obtained an advanced certification in Critical Care Nursing
