Position Summary
Position assumes a lead role for an assigned surgery services service line (Neuro). Provides professional nursing care within the intraoperative areas. Covers pre-op/PACU as needed. Position responsible for anticipating physician needs, maintaining preference cards, training new employees. Liaises with Supply Chain Management/Environmental Services/Central Sterile Processing to ensure that the service line has sufficient supplies. Scrubs/Circulates as needed. Floats as required. Liaises with Physician/Surgeon to understand physician preferences related to room setup, availability of supplies, operating environment, etc..
. Qualifications: Education:
Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school.
BSN preferred.
License/Certifications:
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
CPR
Experience:
One year OR RN experience in an acute care hospital.
Neurosurgery experience highly preferred.
Certification in specialty area of practice in OR preferred.
Special Skills: Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills.
