The VA Western Colorado Health Care System (WCHCS) is a Level 3 facility with service-lines serving medical, surgical, neurological, and psychiatric inpatients and outpatients, with a Level III Emergency Department, multiple VA Clinics, and a Community Living Center (CLC). There is a significant outpatient psychiatric population, with admissions for medical co-morbidities. Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) and telehealth nursing care are also provided. Major duties include but are not limited to; Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice. Demonstrating leadership in improving nursing care; and the administration, management, supervision and evaluation of both nursing care and nursing personnel on their designated unit and as assigned for the Medical Center on off tours, weekends, and holidays. Provides appropriate care for Veterans ranging in age from 18 through the geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis and physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs. Demonstrates, promotes, creates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. Provides an environment that fosters employees to perform to their full individual potential. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
