Cardiology Step Down at Duke University Hospital provides care for cardiology medicine patients with a range of diagnoses. The patient population includes but is not limited to the care of acute coronary syndrome, post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, dysrhythmias, heart failure, heart transplant workups and congenital heart disease. These patients require high acuity care and many come directly from the ICU, post procedures or outside hospitals requiring an increased level of care. Many times, these patients encompass a multi-system involvement which can include but is not limed to pulmonary, renal, endocrine and neurology.
