PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes strategies to ensure service line success. Works collaboratively with the AVPs of strategic service lines and helps to lead and develop strategic initiatives and solutions to improve business operations and volume growth as well as competitively differentiate and build market preference for the system’s branded services.
Works closely with the Physician Relations sales team to ensure business growth through directing development activities that are aligned with organizational growth strategy. This includes training/onboarding, strategic development, creation of target lists and identification of top referral sources, activity monitoring and tracking results.
Works collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to develop strategic direction that supports identified business initiatives, message development and execution of hospital-wide volume-driving advertising.
Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through development of educational curriculum/workshops, tools and strategies for growth.
Oversees the system’s messaging and design and provides strategic and operational direction to the internal communication process with key stakeholder groups: Employees and physicians.
Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills, consulting with Administration and seeking advice when appropriate for situations outside authority or expertise.
Provides timely reports whenever requested.
Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations as appropriate.
Responsible for compliance with the financial budget of the department, monthly departmental meetings, and completing and forwarding reports to the CBDO or other senior leadership as directed.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law including: interviewing, hiring, engaging, retaining and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Resolves employee satisfaction concerns in a timely manner, ensuring they have been thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions have been taken, works in collaboration with Human Resources, as necessary.
Resolves physician satisfaction concerns in a timely manner, ensuring they have been thoroughly addressed and appropriate actions have been taken. Escalates as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Experience with developing community initiatives; the ability to network in the Community and build relationship with providers.

Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of resources and market business data with the ability to apply the information in the development and implementation, measurement and evaluation of marketing programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or similar field.
5 years’ experience with proven results in healthcare business development and leadership role that includes management of key functions: physician relations, marketing and planning, promotional plan development, strategic and business plan development.
Current Florida State driver’s license
Under the direction of the Chief Business Development Officer, and in accordance with hospital mission and vision, this position is charged with daily responsibility for Business Development strategies, implementation, physician relations and other areas as assigned by the CBDO. This position uses discretion and independent judgement to direct and implement census development strategies for the hospital. Works collaboratively with Service Line leadership/directors to develop strategies to drive volume growth. Works closely with the Physician Relations sales team to build relationships, gauge market intelligence, and drive business to the hospital. Serves as a knowledgeable reference that can educate team members, referral sources and physicians about hospital services. Is responsible for building results-producing relationships with the referral community (physicians, case managers and payers). As a role model of the organization’s core values, formulates an operational plan for assigned department(s) and supporting programs that are aligned with FHT’s purpose/mission and fully integrated with organizational strategic plan and operational goals and objectives. Works collaboratively with other leaders within FHT and across AHS to achieve department, center and hospital-wide quality, satisfaction and financial goals. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory, AHS and hospital policies and procedures.
