Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Urgent Care in Hot Springs, SD. Nursing care is a dynamic and skilled application of a systematic body of knowledge to the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems provided in the context of the nursing process, which encompasses all the significant action in providing care, and forms the foundation of clinical decision making. Nursing care must be individualized to meet a particular patient's unique needs and situation. Major Duties include but are not limited to: · Treat chest pain/discomfort through evidence bases protocols (AHA guidelines) · To recognize stroke symptoms and assist with transfer of patient to a higher level of care according to the EMTALA guide · Triage patients using ESI algorithm and report/room higher acuity patients to provider immediately · Treat lower acuity patients, when appropriate, using the RN Procedure Clinic · Initiate peripheral IV's and manage medications · Initiate and monitor cardiac activity as well as all vital signs · Document appropriately and complete in EMR · Assist with ambulance transfers in and out of the facility according to the EMTALA guidelines · Perform venipuncture/blood collections, label correctly for lab · Ensure the safety of all suicidal patients through 1:1 monitoring if necessary Work Schedule: Rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.
