You Will Be Responsible For:
Manage the trauma program, specifically to ensure implementation of the PI plan and ensure loop closure.
Review care delivered to trauma patients and identify care issues and/or processes for improvement.
Identify staff learning needs and collaborate with Nursing Education Department to develop educational activities related to trauma care.
Collaborate with other clinical departments to develop processes that enhance patient care and throughput throughout the continuum of care.
Ensure accurate and timely record input to the Trauma Registry
Represent the Trauma programs on specific hospital committees: Trauma Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Medical Peer Review Committee, Emergency Management Committee, Clinical Leadership Committee
Represent the AdventHealth Trauma programs at RAC meetings
Represent AdventHealth at quarterly Texas Trauma Coordinators’ Forum meetings
Develop Injury Prevention programs specific to the community
Collaborate with local EMS to ensure follow up and development of local protocols.
Collaborate with Trauma Coordinators at receiving facilities to ensure lope closure of transferred patients.
Develop and review policies specific to trauma care
What You Will Need:
Current Texas or multi-state Compact RN license
5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care or Trauma nursing
Must have: ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications
The Trauma Program Coordinator has the authority to manage the Trauma and Stroke programs throughout the continuum of care and across multidisciplinary lines of service
The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that AdventHealth remains in compliance with all regulatory requirements to maintain Trauma Facility Designation and Stroke Center Designation.
