Geisinger is looking for an Emergency Medicine Regional Medical Director to represent our Northeast region.
Job Duties
Reporting directly to the Chair of Emergency Medicine, the Regional Director will have the responsibility of assuring Geisinger's mission, vision, and values are upheld in their region. Along with the Chair and the Associate Vice President for Emergency Medicine, they will work collaboratively with other system, hospital, and EM leadership, front line staff and other stakeholders to provide timely, high quality emergency medical care for all patients who present to Geisinger's emergency departments.
The successful applicant will be expected to work their administrative and clinical time in the northeast region: Geisinger Wyoming Valley [Wilkes-Barre, PA], Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre [Wilkes-Barre, PA], Geisinger St. Luke's [Orwigsburg, PA]).
This full-time position is split 40% administrative and 60% clinical. In addition to working clinical shifts, the successful applicant will be administratively responsible for providing oversight and direction in their region to ensure high-quality medical care is provided to all patients in the Emergency Department (ED). The role will be expected to oversee and work in conjunction with other Emergency Medicine Associate Directors. Additionally, collaboration with other hospital departments is required to ensure the effective delivery of services in an organized and coordinated manner. The Regional Director will also foster educational opportunities, staff selection and hiring, coaching, and professional discipline with a strong focus on accountability. Education and experience (Required): Career emergency physician with proven clinical and administrative skills.
Ten (10) years of clinical practice
Five (5) years of leadership/management in EM or other pertinent and related healthcare role
Board certification in emergency medicine by ABEM or AOBEM
