Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health is the state’s only comprehensive, freestanding pediatric hospital in the state. We serve the state and the region with the state’s most comprehensive Level 1 Trauma, NICU (level IV), region’s only pediatric heart center, region’s only pediatric BMT and CAR-T therapy program and state’s only level IV pediatric epilepsy center. Our PICU is staffed by critical trained physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and other multidisciplinary care team.

What Sets Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Apart

In our 34-bed PICU, our PICU nurses are trained to care for some of the sickest pediatric patients. Nurses choose to work in the unit because of the diverse patient population, high-acuity levels and the opportunity to continually learn.

Our PICU team works closely with the CICU and the NICU, and often, our nurses float between the three intensive care units when additional help is needed.

EDUCATION           

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Master’s level education required; without a BSN, Master’s level of education must be a MSN.

EXPERIENCE

• Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare facility, including experience in a supervisory or senior management capacity. An equivalent amount of education or experience may be substituted for minimum experience requirements.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
