Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Chief of Neuro-Oncology and faculty, assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice. This includes but is not limited to: taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, performing appropriate procedures (i.e., venipuncture, lumbar punctures, intramuscular injections, etc.), ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis and provide care and management for common conditions in Neuro Oncology adult patients. NP will work on preparations of chemotherapy orders, directed by physicians, her weekly work assignment will be done by Chief of Neuro-Oncology Division. The NP may assist in the admission, transfer or discharge from Health Care System. Makes appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies. Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement program. Works within multidisciplinary team to develop plan for the patient and ensure its execution.
Job RequirementsMINIMUM
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
3 years clinical experience in related area or specialty field
1.Compact state or Arizona RN license (RN),
2.Arizona Advance Practice Nurse license (LIC APN),
3.National Certificate as an nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations:
a.CT NP-AACN,
b.CT NP-AANP,
c.CT NP-ANCC, or
d.CT NP-PNCB,
4. DEA registration (DEA),
5. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (CT ACLS),
and
6. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)
