Our Promise to Our Community
We Listen, We Respect, We Care...Always!
Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) is a not-for-profit organization and the largest community hospital in the state of Vermont. As the needs of our community have grown and changed, so has RRMC, adding services, staff and facilities. Today, RRMC is a 145-bed hospital employing over 1,700 employees and supported by a medical staff of over 300 physicians and advanced practice providers trained in over 40 specialty areas. Providing preventive, diagnostic, acute and rehabilitative services, RRMC serves Rutland County, portions of southern and central Vermont and communities in eastern New York State.
The hospital’s medical staff is supported by excellent nurses, high quality diagnostic and ancillary services and a broad array of sophisticated equipment technology, including advanced diagnostic imaging, a top-of-the-line linear accelerator used in the treatment of cancer patients, and a diagnostic Cardiovascular Lab.
At RRMC, we manage and adapt to change and growth while continuing our focus on a high standard of personalized, quality medical care, adding key specialties to serve community needs, and focusing on attracting and recruiting highly trained doctors, nurses and staff. We are committed to providing the services, both in and out of the hospital, required to maintain the health of not just our patients, but the entire community.
Over the years, Rutland Regional Medical Center (RRMC) has received multiple national awards. These awards reflect our unwavering commitment to being the best community healthcare system in New England.
- RRMC is a 4x ANCC Magnet® recognized hospital, holding a continuous Magnet accreditation since 2010.

U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, named RRMC a 2025 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care. This is the highest award a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals for Maternity Care annual study. RRMC was the only hospital in Vermont to attain this recognition.
Additionally, RRMC was one of only 118 hospitals nationwide to be named a 2025 Maternity Care Access Hospital, which is a hospital that offers essential maternity services to underserved communities. This recognizes hospitals serving communities that would be in danger of becoming a maternity care desert.
